Day 10: Relentless
After having such a great Saturday my Sunday morning started out with frozen pipes again in my kitchen. I was up pretty late last night so I didn’t wake up until after 10 and I came downstairs and found the hot water in the kitchen was not working. When the temperatures dip into the teens or single digits I always check the water first thing. I called the plumbers who did the work and emailed Paul Davis. After about 2 hours with no reply I texted the gent from Paul Davis who was here on Tuesday. I waiting another 2.5 hours and finally called the emergency number for Paul Davis. They came out within an hour, told me to stop apologizing and discovered the hot water pipe, which is galvanized, was either leaking and then froze or it froze then split due to a gap in the foundation they missed when they insulated on Tuesday. The good news is it only affects the kitchen sink. The pipe is encased in ice right now so that's why there was no detectable leak in the basement. Considering it...
