Day 841: Rule #3
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 841 of Nutrisystem. Well, if this one were true I'd do all my eating standing up ! LOL ! On a more serious note, I did some thinking about my eating habits today. I wasn't one to stand up and eat. When you weigh 304 pounds and your back and feet hurt the best place to eat is on the couch or in bed ! Before I started Nutrisystem I had quite an addiction to chocolate candy. For years I kept large quantities of candy in my bedroom. I'd have stacks of the large size Hershey bars with almonds and the large Mr Goodbar's. I also used to buy bags of peanut clusters, chocolate covered peanuts or pecan turtles in the bulk food section at the grocery store. Shoveling scoops of chocolates into a big plastic bag was every fat girl's dream ! I also bought big bags of Hershey Kisses and M&M's and Skittles. At times I'd also have packages of cookies on hand and there was always ice cream in the freezer. It wasn't unusual for me to take a huge bowl of ice cream to bed and then follow it with chocolates and cookies. I loved Halloween and Christmas because I could buy big bags of "fun size" candy bars and no one would know they were all for me ! My beverage of choice was sugar filled raspberry iced tea, cranberry juice and lemonade. I drank that stuff by the gallon. When I think about all the calories I was taking in it is just horrifying, but at the time it was comforting to be surrounded by it all. That is what made me feel good, plain and simple. Once I found myself alone I started sleeping downstairs in a recliner, surrounded by my junk food friends and close to the kitchen where more friends waited, like chip & dip and chicken tenders and pizza ! Between 2014 and 2017 I suffered a lot of loss and my eating accelerated to compensate for the sadness I was feeling. I've talked before about the half hearted effort I made to start losing weight after the fire but it didn't last long and I went right back to my old eating habits. I am so thankful every day that I finally woke up and found the strength and motivation to finally address my weight along with my financial and physical fitness. Until I was free of the weight and the debt I didn't realize just how much it was dragging me down. I was dying a little bit every day under that crushing weight. This is why the first thing I do every morning and every night is give thanks for where I am and what I have. I think I'm pretty lucky.
Breakfast was a 2 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with roasted veggies. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 10 multi-grain crackers (80 calories) with garlic salsa. Dinner was a 4.7 ounce 250 calorie meatloaf sandwich with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 1.8 ounce 140 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1150 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
First workout of the day was Romania with iFit trainer John Peel. Second workout was South Africa with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. I made it through the 3rd workout but it was nearly 10 pm when I got done. It was with iFit trainer Evan Dollard in Austria. I logged 93 minutes, 5.4 miles and 637 calories. I did skip the Total Gym again. Fitbit says I did over 16,000 steps so I'm happy with the day's work.
