Day 475: The Road

"The path to our destination is not

always a straight one. We go down the

wrong road, we get lost, we turn back.

Maybe it doesn't matter which road we

embark on. Maybe what matters is

 that we embark."

~Barbara Hall~

It's Day 475 of Nutrisystem and Day 38 of quarantine. Some days it takes me a long time to find a source of inspiration, but this quote jumped right out at me. I have definitely gone down wrong roads and I've definitely been lost, but I feel like I've finally found the right road. It wasn't easy getting here. I may make the Nutrisystem program sound easy but you do have to work at it and it's not all sunshine and roses. There are days I'd like to veer off the road and dig in to some of the things I used to eat. Every now and then I think about fried chicken tenders dripping in ranch dressing. Some days I get a little wistful when I go past my favorite cookies in Walmart. I don't indulge those thoughts because I fear they'll take me down a road I may never come back from and I've worked too hard to get where I am.

Breakfast was a 2.5 ounce 160 calorie package of buttermilk waffles with sugar free syrup. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie spinach & cheese pretzel melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. Afternoon snack was a x.x ounce 180 calorie Jif chewy granola bar. Dinner was a 7.5 ounce 220 calorie fettuccine alfredo served over riced cauliflower. I also finished off the veggies I roasted Saturday. Looks like I'll be roasting more tomorrow ! Evening snack was a 1.6 ounce 130 calorie red velvet cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1175 and I got 64 ounces of water in.

Woke up to temps in the low 30's and the remnants of last nights snow on the ground. The sun came out but it staying in the 30's all day and tonight our low is 27 !! We're supposed to be near 60 on Saturday so I'm planning on washing my car once I make the trek to Walmart.

First workout of the day was another jaunt in Iceland with iFit trainer Jonnie Gale. This 27 minute workout consisted of four 3 minute intervals at 3.2 mph with 6 minute recoveries at 3 mph. The second half of the walk had some brief incline so it was a good all around workout. After work I completed #5 in the Grand Canyon series with John Peel. This 30 minute walk was a steady 2.6 mph until the 20 minute mark, when the pace increased to 2.8 mph. Incline was minimal so it wasn't really a factor. I logged 57 minutes, 2.6 miles and 280 calories. I also spent about 40 minutes on the Total Gym after dinner. I almost didn't, because I was pretty full and a bit tired but I forced myself to do it. I'm glad I did because I felt good afterwards ! I was starving when dinner time rolled around and ate an entire 10 ounce bag of riced cauliflower with my Nutrisystem entree, along with a big bowl of roasted veggies. That's why I was so full !

My back is much, much better today so I'm happy about that ! I did spend some time on the heating pad last night and I will do that again tonight. I think I'll be 100% in a day or two so this injury was very minor. I think it also helps that I kept moving. I will remember that if it happens again !

I had a tough time getting to sleep and staying asleep last night. The wind kept me awake and it woke me up several times. I'm yawning tonight and the wind has died down, so I'm hoping to sleep a lot better !
