Day 453: Weather The Storm

"Sometimes you just have to bow your

head, say a prayer, and weather the

 storm."

It's Day 453 of Nutrisystem and Day 16 of staying at home. What we're going through now is a storm none of us saw coming, least of all me. It still seems a little surreal. At this point I'm resigned to our fate and pretty much planning on this lasting well into May. I am so thankful every day that I started the journey to weight loss and fitness because it gives me something positive to focus on while I wait for the world to right itself. The old me would have filled this house with every comfort food under the sun and I would be eating non-stop. I'd be emerging from this quarantine 20 pounds heavier instead of 10 pounds lighter !

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. Afternoon snack was a 1.3 ounce 180 calorie Jif Power Ups chewy granola bar. Dinner was a 4 ounce 180 calorie artichoke & spinach stuffed chicken breast with the last of my roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.1 ounce 130 calorie cream filled chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1155 and I got 64 ounces of water in.

Today's lunchtime workout was a relatively easy 21 minute walk on the beaches of Tahiti with iFit trainer John Peel. It consisted of 90 second intervals with 90 second recoveries. It wasn't enough of a challenge for me so about 12 minutes in I increased the speed to 3.2 mph and then added 4% incline until the end. After work I completed a 32 minute hike in Hawaii with iFit trainer Stacie Clark. It had a ton of max incline (10%) and the pace was 3.5 mph for at least half of the workout. At about the 20 minute mark (in the middle of a 12 minute stretch of max incline and a 3.2 mph pace!) I was huffing and puffing and didn't think I could make it to the end. Luckily for me the speed dropped down below 3 mph just then and I was able to recover enough to make it through the last stretch at 3.5 mph and the end of the workout. Stacie just about kills me on every single one of her workouts but I think I will do this one again, just to keep challenging myself ! I logged 53 minutes, 2.6 miles and 344 calories. Surprisingly enough I also put in my usual 30-40 minutes on the Total Gym after dinner, so this was a full day !

I don't know about you but I always feel better when the sun is shining. Today was another dreary day until about 4 pm when the sun popped out and I got a glimpse of blue skies. If it was a bit warmer and I wasn't working I'd have gone outside to soak up a few rays ! Tomorrow looks to have some sunshine so I'm looking forward to that. To help chase away the boredom I've been doing a lot of online "window shopping" without buying everything I see. I'm also looking for garden ideas to help spruce up my yard. First we need some warm dry weather ! I can't wait until I can shut off the heat and throw open the windows !

It's still early but I'm tired so I'm heading for a shower and some tv in bed.
