Day 442: Remember

"Always remember that your present

situation is not your final destination.

The best is yet to come."

It's Day 442 of Nutrisystem but it's only Day 5 of staying at home. It feels like it's been much longer since the end is not in sight. I was getting kind of down about that but then I stopped and thought about how I felt on my very first day of Nutrisystem. There I was at 304 pounds with a goal of reaching 150. I was staring down the longest road of my life but I took the first step and never looked back. I'm using that as inspiration to get through this enforced isolation and reminding myself I've sat at home alone for 5 or more days many, many times .... and it never bothered me ! I reminded myself that many other people have found themselves in much more difficult circumstances so big girl panties are in order here ! 2019 was my year and it was pretty great ! I thought 2020 was going to be amazing as well and who knows, it may turn out to be yet ! I think this experience is going to change a lot of us for the better. I know I will have more appreciation for all of the blessings in my life ! I've also reminded myself I can get in my car and go for a drive anywhere I want, just to get out of the house for a while, so it's not like I'm a prisoner. There is no room for a pity party, no reason to get down in the dumps, no reason to complain and no reason to worry. I have everything I could possibly need and I will get through this just fine. I'm just grateful I got in the habit of "stocking up" for the winter months !

Breakfast was a 2.8 ounce 160 calorie package of homestyle pancakes with sugar free syrup. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit caramel apple pie yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie spinach & cheese pretzel melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. Afternoon snack was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit tiramisu yogurt with 12 reduced fat wheat thins (90 calories). Dinner was a 5 ounce 210 calorie mushroom stuffed chicken breast with a bowl of roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1135 and I got 64 ounces of water in.

My lunchtime workout was a 19 minute hike in Toronto, Ontario, Canada with iFit trainer John Peel. The pace was only 2.4 mph and I wanted to work a little harder so I bumped it up to 3 mph. There was a tiny bit of brief incline but nothing over 3%. After work I completed #5 of 5 in the Zion National Park hiking series with Ryan Robinson. The pace of this 27 minute hike was 2.5 mph and there was only brief incline that never exceeded 5%. Today I logged 46 minutes, 2.1 miles and 218 calories. After dinner I put in my usual 40 minutes on the Total Gym too. I thought about skipping it and sitting on the couch with a beer .... but then I decided I could have that beer after the workout. By the time I was done the desire for a beer had faded so I just had a cup of coffee instead. I scheduled treadmill workouts through the end of March and I really hope that when April 1 rolls around life will have returned to some semblance of normal .. if we can ever be normal again !

This will be the first weekend of social distancing ! I am planning to venture out for a short time to pick up some lettuce, some cat litter (if I can find it!) and to get my mail. We don't get home delivery of mail so I have no choice but to go to the post office. I have several packages there and they will ship them back if you don't pick them up within a week. I had thought about doing some organizing out in the garage but it's going to be cold (32 tomorrow!) so that is off the schedule. I have more clothes to go through so I can do that and then bag them up for donation. I may also take some measurements of the area I want to "beautify" in my yard. Once I know the dimensions I can start planning what I want to do and what I need to buy. There's always cleaning too ! Needless to say I won't really be bored.

Time for a shower and bed !
