Day 441: Faith

Faith is unseen but felt. Faith is

strength when we feel we have none.

Faith is hope when all seems lost."

It's Day 441 of Nutrisystem but it's only Day 4 of staying at home. I feel like I've gotten over the initial shock of what is going on in the world right now, so I've settled in to being at home for a while. For me, exercise is helping tremendously. For those brief spans of time I don't think about the uncertainty and it tires me out so I can sleep. It also helps that I'm not reading all of the nonsense being published online. I'm focusing on the things that are within my power to control. I'm heeding the request to stay home and beyond that there is little else I can do. So I'm back to a more peaceful mind.

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll with caramel drizzle coffee. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit toasted coconut vanilla yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 230 calorie four cheese melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. Afternoon snack was a 90 calorie wrap with 3 slices of turkey (50 calories) and 1/2 ounce of dill pickle cheddar cheese (55 calories). Dinner was a 4 ounce 180 calorie artichoke & spinach stuffed chicken breast with a bowl of roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1140 and I got 64 ounces of water in.

I was awake long before 6 am so I got an early start on clearing more clothes out of my closet. I got a laugh when I tried on a pair of size 18 denim shorts. They literally fell right off me .. lol ! I finished off the laundry, vacuumed the downstairs and then took care of the cat room, cleaning out boxes and sweeping the floor. Tomorrow I'll vacuum upstairs and see what else I can find to keep me occupied. I think I have more tops to try on so the donate pile will likely grow again !

During my lunch hour I got a challenging workout in. I really had to force myself to try it, because it had four 30 second jog intervals at 4.5 mph. That's pretty fast for me but I told myself I could do it for 30 seconds. It was tough because in front of each jog was a short interval at max incline ... and in front of each max incline there was an interval at 3.2 mph ! So this workout really challenged me. I sweated up a storm but I made it through the entire 22 minutes ! It was a studio workout with Stacie Clark. I like her but I hate the background noise of the studio setting so I muted the workout and listened to my own music. After work I completed a 31 minute hike in Skagway, Alaska with Ben Seale. This one had plenty of incline and the pace ranged from 2 to 3.3 mph. It consisted of 3 minute intervals with 6 minute recoveries but I still had to work hard and give up a little sweat ! I logged 53 minutes, 2.5 miles and 361 calories. After dinner I spent 40 minutes on the Total Gym. Suffice to say I am pleasantly fatigued !

My Nutrisystem order was delivered today so I also spent some time stuffing all that into my freezer after work. It's delivered in a foam cooler with a big block of dry ice so it stayed icy cold ! I have almost 60 days worth of food and plenty of veggies so about the only thing I will need at the store soon is lettuce. I'll probably venture out Saturday to grab what I need. I'll wait until later in the day to avoid the crowds.

On that note it's about time for a shower and bed !
