Day 382: Challenges

I went to bed early last night and was wide awake before 3 am ! I did finally go back to sleep hours later and I felt better when I got up. I took a nice shower, fed the cats, heated my breakfast and settled in my office to work. Then my morning went downhill. I took one bite and a wave of cold sweat, nausea and weakness came over me before I could even swallow. I knew I had to lie down and my legs felt like spaghetti just walking from my office to the living room. The feeling passed after a few minutes and I was able to finish my breakfast and get to work. I'm thinking it was low blood sugar because I was fine the rest of the day. My muscle aches were gone today so I'm planning to get back to my exercise routine tomorrow, provided I am still feeling better. I decided not to even try exercising today. I look at this as just another challenge along the road to fitness but I'm not going to let it stop me. I've had these episodes of low blood sugar before but they are few and far between. This one was a little more severe (the wobbly legs scared me a little) but I'm not going to worry unless it continues to happen. I'm going to continue to push myself but at the same time I'm going to listen to my body a little more carefully.

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll with butter toffee coffee. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 100 calorie string cheese. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a bag of steamed broccoli. Afternoon snack was a 90 calorie veggie cake (1 to go!) and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit toasted coconut vanilla yogurt. Dinner was a 7.5 ounce 230 calorie chicken marsala served over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1120. I only got 32 ounces of water in so I need to try harder with that tomorrow !

I was thinking about how I felt yesterday and how I felt today, wondering if maybe I picked up some sort of bug but I don't think I have. I think it's just a coincidence and I suspect maybe yesterday was just a result of overdoing it on Saturday. As for today, I had an unusual amount of carbs before I went to bed last night. I had my afternoon snack (3 cups of popcorn & a yogurt) and my evening snack (an ice cream sandwich) all at the same and I've never done that before. I was just all out of sorts yesterday. I do have 2 treadmill workouts scheduled for tomorrow but both are only 20 minutes and neither of them have incline, so that will be a good way to ease back in. I also plan to try doing the 2 Starter exercises on the Total Gym. They recommend 1-2 sets with 15-25 reps each so that is all I plan on doing. If I can't, I can't ..  but I'm going to try. If I let the Total Gym sit here unused I'll never work it in to my routine.

Looks like I will have my car back on Thursday ! I'm looking forward to that ! It's getting late so I'm heading for bed and hoping for a good night's sleep and a normal day !
