Day 206: Make It Happen

"The difference between who you are and who you want to be is how far you run, how high you jump, and how much harder you go when you want to quit. It's your difference. Make it happen!

This is the perfect quote for me because I still struggle with pushing myself to exercise. I often find myself wanting to quit when I'm actually on the treadmill. I've done that on a couple of occasions and when I think back, some of the reasons for giving up were just excuses. So I still need to work on going harder when I want to quit. I've done well but there is always room for improvement and exercise absolutely needs to become and remain a top priority if I want to maintain my weight loss. I have no real excuse for not exercising yesterday. I could have done so before I went out since I didn't leave the house until 3:30 pm. I was home by 8:30 so I certainly could have exercised last night too. I just didn't want to. I suppose expecting to exercise every single day is unrealistic and if I were at my goal weight I'd be okay with that, but I'm still a long way from my goal weight. I don't know that good eating habits are ingrained in me yet, but exercise habits are clearly not ingrained. I've said before that a lifetime of poor habits won't change overnight, but how long can I keep saying that before it's just an excuse ? It IS an excuse ! Even after 206 days this is still a daily struggle and although it's entirely possible it's not always easy. I just have to keep telling myself this IS a marathon, not a sprint. I know I'll get there but some days I get really impatient ! When I started this journey I knew it was going to be a bumpy road.

Breakfast was a 2 ounce 170 calorie double chocolate muffin with crumb cake coffee. Second cup was a new selection: Cinnabon classic cinnamon roll. The cinnamon flavor was amazing so this will be a new favorite ! Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was another 3.7 ounce 200 calorie grilled chicken sandwich dressed with buffalo wing sauce. Also had a chef salad with Kraft Fat Free Zesty Italian dressing. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and pretzels (110 calories). Also had a pickle but that is zero calories. That left 485 calories for dinner and an evening snack. Dinner was a 5 ounce 210 calorie broccoli and cheese stuffed chicken breast with green beans. Evening snack was a 1.8 ounce 150 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1075 but with the salad dressing it's more like 1100.

After yesterday's yard work my legs were a little stiff when I woke up today ... so I was bending like a giraffe to pick up anything on the floor ! 🦒 An afternoon workout on the treadmill helped with the stiffness and helped me finish off the first 32 ounces of water for the day. A second workout after dinner finished off another 32 plus 16 in between, so I'm at 80 ounces for the day. I'm happy that I was able to push myself to get 2 workouts in today. I think it will help give me a strong start for the week.

Today I took care of a couple things I've been procrastinating about: getting a case for my cell phone and arranging for some estimates to have my driveway repaved. I found an Etsy site that makes personalized cases for really reasonable prices (see pic below) and I reached out to 2 local paving companies that were recommended to me last year, when I first started thinking about that project. One also does landscaping so depending on the cost of the driveway, I may have a little in the budget to start adding some curb appeal. The one who only does paving is coming tomorrow evening so I don't have to wait long.

Photo on the left is my phone. The case is clear so my Flamingo Pink phone will show through. Obviously my case will say Wendy and I chose a slightly different font. I love the liquid glitter feature and I hope the case looks as awesome in person. I wonder if Jenny's phone number is 867-5309 .. lol ! Phone is expected to ship sometime between 8-1 and 8-10 so it'll be a little bit before I have it.

Time for a warm shower and my cozy bed. It's been a great weekend !
