Day 165: No Matter What
"No matter what happens, no matter how far away you seem to be from where you want to be, never stop believing that you will somehow make it. Have an unrelenting belief that things will work out, that the long road has a purpose, that the things that you desire may not happen today, but they will happen. Continue to persist and persevere." ~Brad Gast~
I've known this journey was going to be a long one since Day 1. Because of that I knew it would be important to continually remind myself of that and take steps to make sure I stay motivated and on track. So I avoid thinking about the end goal and focus on a series a mini goals. Getting 50 pounds off was really the first little goal and now that I'm approaching 70 pounds lost, I can start thinking about making it to the 100 pound mark. I'd like to be there by Christmas or January 4 (the one year mark), so that gives me something to work toward over the next 6 months. My goal weight is always there in the back of my mind, but I told myself this was probably going to take 18-24 months. Based on that I feel like I'm right on target. Most of the time I have no doubt I can do it, but there are moments where I doubt myself. I guess when you're working towards something you want so badly you're going to be afraid that you won't get there sometimes. Before I decided to start Nutrisystem I thought about the amount of weight I need/want to lose and it seemed completely unreachable. It was such an overwhelming feeling that I'd forget about it and go eat the foods that had gotten me in this predicament ! I had failed so many times .. what made me think it would be anything but more of the same this time around ? I guess this time I had the mindset needed to be successful. This time I was determined not to fail. Even with my success, my goal weight still seems so far away. Maybe that is a good thing because it will keep me working hard to get there.
Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll with toasted marshmallow mocha coffee. Second cup was Kahlua. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie bbq chicken melt with raw carrots. Afternoon snack was 3/4 cup of yogurt (90 calories) and an 80 calorie snack cup of fruit cocktail. This left me 495 calories for dinner and an evening snack. Dinner was a 9.5 ounce 260 calorie roasted turkey medallions with mashed potatoes and gravy. I also had a bowl of the veggies I roasted yesterday. Evening snack was a 1.8 ounce 140 calorie butterscotch cake. My calories for the day are 1105 and I got all 64 ounces of water in !
It was a nice sunny day when I left for work this morning but it was pretty chilly for mid-June. It was barely 50 degrees. It warmed up into the 70's so it was a relatively nice day. Got my workout in after a couple of hiccups between Ifit and my treadmill. Some days they don't play well together. Yesterday I actually got a pop up message on my tablet telling me not to touch the treadmill because it was calibrating incline .. so it seems Ifit is doing the calibration, rather than my treadmill initiating it. The wonders of the electronic age !
Since I took care of the trash yesterday this was a much more relaxing Monday evening. I'm headed for a warm shower and my comfy bed. I see a little tv or Candy Crush in my future !
