Day 56: A Clear Vision

“A Clear Vision, Backed By Definite Plans, Gives You A Tremendous Feeling Of Confidence And Personal Power.” - Brian Tracy
My mind is quiet today so I don’t have much in the way of philosophical ramblings to share. I liked this quote from Brian Tracy because I feel like I finally have a clear vision. I’ve made some definite plans and I feel confident in my ability to succeed. Nutrisystem has become a way of life and my commitment hasn’t wavered. Maybe that contributes to my inner peace.
After the stressful commute last night the blue skies and sunshine we had today were a welcome change ! It was still cold – 4 when I left for work – but any day without snow is a good day right now ! Roads between Mexico and Parish had a bit of snow on them but were in much better shape than last night ! The highway was in perfect shape so I got to work in no time. Most mornings I wake up before the alarm and today it was so nice to lay in bed and listen to my street and driveway being plowed ! The driveway had some snow accumulation when I got home last night (mostly thanks to the plow) so I made good use of the AWD and powered right through it ! I can’t tell you how many times I got stuck in that driveway with my front wheel drive minivans ! The 2017 Charger seems to be better in the snow than the 2014 I had. Might be a combination of the bigger wheels and maybe me being more used to driving a sedan now. The 2017 also has much more powerful headlights and that makes a huge difference when driving in snow or at night. When I switched from a Grand Caravan to a Charger I had a tough time getting used to it. I’d been driving minivans for about 16 years !
Breakfast today was a 2.1 ounce cinnamon roll with French vanilla coffee. Had my usual 100 calorie string cheese later in the morning but missed the morning snack again. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie chicken fajita melt with some salsa. This is my favorite lunch item ! Also had some raw carrots and cottage cheese. Since I missed my morning snack I had my 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder as my afternoon snack. Dinner tonight was a new frozen entree - an 8.5 ounce 250 calorie chicken and vegetable stir fry. I served it over broccoli and it was delicious ! I’m only at 987 calories for the day so I may have 2 snacks tonight. I’m still not really tasting anything and that’s killing my appetite.
With this cold weather I’ve held my breath a bit when it comes to my heating and plumbing but so far everything is running smoothly. My cold has yet to release me from its grip and that is frustrating. I feel fine but I’m still stuffy. I’m on my 4th box of Puffs Plus ! I’m coughing some but I can tell it’s getting a little better every day. Looks like it’s going to be a snowy weekend so I plan to lay low and get over this once and for all !
