Day 40 (AG): A New Year

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

“A new year. A fresh start.

Infinite Possibilities."

It's day 40 AG (after goal) and day 972 of Nutrisystem. Since yesterday was my birthday I look at today as the start of a new year. Who says you can only celebrate New Year's on January 1st ? Today is the start of the next 365 days of my life and I'm really and truly hoping it is the best year ever. It started off great with the new car and with 0% financing my payment is about $86 a month lower ! That will take care of the increase in my insurance premium, lol ! I feel so fortunate to be where I am today. My life is better today than it has ever been and I know how blessed I am, especially considering the current state of the world. I put in a lot of hard work to get here but I think I've had some lucky breaks along the way too. I am thankful every day. The possibilities truly are infinite.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer birthday. I picked up my brand new car and then picked up my mom. We started the day with breakfast and then headed to Turning Stone Casino. After losing much of the day I had a little luck and ended up coming home with all the money I started the day with. That is a win to me ! I had a wonderful birthday meal at Pino Bianco and although Mom wanted to pay I opted to treat her instead. I usually spend my birthday at the State Fair but that just wasn't in the cards this year. Hopefully things will be different next year and that tradition can be resumed. I am completely in love with the new car. Having only seen the paint color in pictures I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was love at first sight ! It is truly purple ! The only hiccup is a scratch on the drivers door but the dealer is going to take care of that next week. I guess that's my luck - my previous car was damaged during transport as well ! The new car has sportier seats so it's a good thing I'm not as wide as I used to be .. lol .. cuz my a$$ wouldn't have fit. The car also has racing pedals and a button labeled "Super Track Pak". I asked the dealer what that was for and all he would say was "don't touch it". Hmm. Wrong answer. A google search didn't turn up much info so I'll have to ask my brother and my brother-in-law about that one ! The good news is this is my third Charger and the impulse to drive like an idiot has passed, so I don't plan on needing "track speed" anytime soon ! Go ahead .. roar on by in your Ford Fiesta ... I could care less !

Coming back to earth meant going back to work today after a fabulous birthday. The day was not very productive and shortly after 3 pm a network problem knocked us off line. I finally gave up trying to reconnect around 5:30 and used the unexpected evening off to get some things done around the house. I thought about cramming in more treadmill time but I decided it was better to just get my house in order. I threw some veggies in the oven to roast and then cleaned litter boxes and swept the laundry room floor. After dinner I cleaned up the rest of the downstairs. Weather was cool today but I worked on the front porch all day. There was no opening windows today and it's going down into the low 50's tonight. Looks like the AC is going to be off for at least the next week and I might even need my little heater on the front porch ! Yikes - I miss summer already ! On that note it's about time for a shower and bed. With any luck the network will be back to normal tomorrow and I can pick up where I left off today !
