Day 15 & 16 (AG): Weekend Vibes
It's day 16 AG (after goal) and day 948 of Nutrisystem. Saturday is definitely my day to relax completely but Sundays I try to be more active so I can ease back into another week ! Most Saturdays are spent with my mom and I treasure every minute spent with her. I was up super early yesterday (6:40 on a Saturday is super early for me!) so we started the day with breakfast at Flo's Diner. Food was delicious ! From there we headed to our happy place, Turning Stone Casino. We had dinner at Emerald's and spent a few hours at the slots. I also indulged in a little retail therapy and picked up a new set of leggings and, thanks to a casino promotion, scored 2 free summer maxi dresses ! Today I lounged around all morning then finally got myself together and went shopping. First stop was Christmas Tree Shops to pick up some k-cups that were on sale along with more of the sugar free syrups I add to my coffee. For some reason they didn't have one box of the caramel macchiato k-cups I like so I ordered them online from some place called Blain's Farm & Fleet. Some day when I have more time I'm going to explore their website and see what else they have to offer ! It's the time of year where I start to stock my pantry for winter so in the coming weeks I'll be buying all sorts of stuff I don't "need". I like to have all the non-perishable essentials on hand before the snow flies. If the weather is bad and I need produce or frozen veggies I can go right up the street to Tops. It's actually walking distance if it's really bad weather. Next stop was Delta Sonic to fill up the gas tank and then it was off to my new favorite Wegman's on Taft Road to get my veggies for the week. It was so nice not to fight the traffic in Cicero. I doubt I will ever go back to the other store.
I am no longer documenting what I eat on weekends. That doesn't mean I've given myself free rein to eat whatever I want. I'm finding that not worrying about what I eat on the weekend makes it easier to be compliant all week. I pretty much stick to 1200 calories and allow myself to exceed that on the weekend, without judgement. Nutrisystem's maintenance plan is 1500 calories a day but I'm afraid I would start gaining weight if I did that every day. It's not like I'm starving - I eat plenty all week and if I feel weak I do have a little something extra. On a bright note, I have maintained my weight for 2 weeks now ! With my goal weight reached I am amazed at the sense of relief I feel. It is like this huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders (and my a$$). Seriously, the quest to reach my goal weight was really dragging me down and I didn't realize just how much stress I had built up until I was there. There is definitely more of a spring in my step these days !
Saturday is my "official" day off from the treadmill. My shins and feet were giving me some twinges of distress Friday so I'm coming around to the belief that a day of rest is a good thing. Today was an unintended day off from the treadmill because I lounged around all morning then went shopping. By the time I got home, put everything away and had lunch it was after 4 pm. By that time I was tired and just wanted to enjoy the rest of the weekend and this beautiful sunny day .. so I did ! The week ahead is going to be super busy so I wanted to be well rested anyway. This week is also going to bring the hot summer days I live for so I might find myself holed up in my air conditioned office for part of the day. I will be grateful for the air conditioning when it's time to hop on the treadmill ! I will also be grateful for the air conditioning in my bedroom ! On that note it's about time for a shower and bed.
