Day 3 (AG): New Beginnings
π€ Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn π€
It's day 3 AG (after goal). I've been following the Nutrisystem plan for 935 days now. I've never done anything for this long, other than breathe ! The journey to lose the weight, eliminate my credit card debt and get fit started on January 4, 2019. With all 3 of these goals finally met I'm embarking on a new journey .. namely to keep the weight off, keep the credit card debt gone and to stay fit. Wouldn't it be nice if you could just wave a magic wand and all 3 goals would "stick" with no more effort on your part ? I'll be honest, it's a little deflating to realize I'll never really be "done". I will have to be vigilant about all 3 goals for the rest of my life. I can't say "yay, I'm done" and go do something else. Nope. Still have to watch what I eat, still have to watch how I spend and still have to make sure I get enough exercise. Not being done has always been a source of frustration for me. I've encountered that in my professional life many times over the years. When your work is never done it's easy for stress to creep up on you. Not reaching my goal weight was having the same effect on me. It was getting more stressful by the day, which is why I opted for the 3 day detox - a last ditch effort to lose those last 2 pounds. I didn't realize just how much stress it was causing until I actually met my goal and was able to put that part of the journey behind me. It is a huge weight off my shoulders. It was self-imposed stress because I couldn't let that 150 number go. Could I have been happy at 152 ? Well, no. I was too close to the finish line. I just couldn't let the dream go. That is just me and I have no regrets. I did have a "now what" moment. I worked so long and so hard to reach that goal and now it was done. Where do you go from here ? Well, you go to work ensuring you don't regain that weight or load up those credit cards or let your fitness slip. In short, I just have to keep doing what I've been doing for over 2.5 years. The battle may be over but the war will never end.
Breakfast was buttermilk waffles with sugar free syrup and a lemon meringue yogurt. Morning snack was a vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a pepperoni pizza melt and a chef salad. Mid-afternoon snack was some cucumber slices. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies. Dinner was a chicken enchilada with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a lemon zest cake. My breakfast, lunch, dinner and evening snack were all Nutrisystem products.
My workout day started in the South of France with iFit trainer Alex Gregory. Next up was 2 rounds with iFit trainer Knox Robinson in Portland, Oregon. I logged almost 72 minutes, 4.1 miles and 486 calories. I'm upping my game tomorrow - I have 90 minutes on my treadmill schedule ! I also spent some time on the Total Gym. Fitbit says I did over 12,000 steps and I'm good with that.
Today was a beautiful sunny day so I spent most of it working out on the front porch. About 4 pm I had to retreat to my air conditioned office because it was 90 on the porch. Rain is coming tomorrow and bringing cooler temps ! On that note I'm heading for an early shower and some tv in bed !
