Day 896: Aisle 5
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 896 of Nutrisystem. Today's quote cracked me up because it's so true ! Every time I go to the grocery store hungry I end up coming home with a bunch of stuff that was not on the list. Every time I go to Walmart I roll through the deli and check out the hot foods, looking for jalapeno poppers. They never have them but I keep looking anyways. When I had to go to the office every day I used to grocery shop on the way home one night and they always had the hot foods stocked for the 5 pm crowd. I would buy a couple of chicken tenders (they were huge) and 4-6 poppers, which I'd eat in the car on the way home. Now I seem to go at "off" times and there is nothing, which is probably a good thing ! I usually roll through the hot foods at Wegmans too but it's not as tempting anymore, since most everything is pre-packaged now. It used to be easy to grab a container and load it up with the chinese food that you paid for by the pound because there were no calorie labels and you could grab as much as you wanted. The self serve hot foods bar was a casualty of COVID and probably won't be back. The pre-packaged stuff has the calories prominently displayed and that tends to keep me from impulse buying. Another good thing ! Even 896 days into this journey I am still tempted and that will never change. For a long time I had this expectation that it would and it resulted in a lot of disappointment in myself, so accepting that temptation will always be there has been necessary. It was yet another unreasonable expectation that I put on myself. The key is learning to manage the temptations and I'm still working on that !
Breakfast was a 180 calorie cinnamon roll and an 80 calorie Light & Fit lemon meringue yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 260 calorie Italian sausage & turkey pepperoni pizza with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1170 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
First workout of the day was in Tanzania with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. Second was Hawaii with iFit trainer Heather Jensen and last was Oslo, Norway with iFit guide Helen De Mora. I logged 96 minutes, 5.5 miles and 658 calories. I'm going to spend some time on the Total Gym as soon as I hit publish on this post. This has worked perfect for me the last 2 days ! Fitbit says I did over 15,000 steps.
