Day 876: One Foot
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 876 of Nutrisystem. I chose this quote because today I was thinking about reaching day 1000. Whaaaat ? That is over 3 months away ! This is why I have always lost my way in the past. I would look beyond the work that remains to be done and sometimes it made the goal seem so unreachable that I'd just give up. I am very familiar with that feeling of being completely overwhelmed. I experienced it for years in all aspects of my life and it got to the point where I could barely function. Depression factored into that and made things worse so it was a perfect storm. I always gave 200% to my job because it was my lifeline but every other aspect of my life was a disaster. Just making the decision to address the big 3 (my weight, my financial fitness and my physical fitness) took a tremendous weight off my shoulders. You really do just need to take that first step, even though it's the hardest ! If I'm honest, I didn't expect the level of success I've achieved so it's important to keep the momentum going until I reach my goal weight, without getting too far ahead of myself. So I reigned myself back in from musing about day 1000 and focused on today, day 876. I'm still committed to reaching my goal weight and day 1000 came to mind because I don't want that date to roll around and not be at my goal weight. Yet again I was putting pressure on myself for no good reason. I've said 100 times I will reach my goal when I reach it. There is no expiration date on this journey and there is no hurry. So I'll keep putting one foot in front of the other and I'll keep moving towards the finish line. The world will not end if I'm not at 150 on day 1000. Will I be disappointed ? Yes. Will I let it stop me ? No. I will keep working at it. So in the end it doesn't matter which "day" I reach my goal.
Breakfast was a 160 calorie buttermilk waffles with sugar free syrup and an 80 calorie Light & Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 280 calorie chicken pesto pizza bowl and roasted veggies. This was a new entree that I bought one of to try. It wasn't that great and it's way too many calories for what you get. For me it had too much basil and not enough garlic ! Evening snack was a 140 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1170 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
First workout of the day was in Tanzania with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. Second and third workouts were old video's with iFit trainer Tommy Rivs in San Diego, CA. The series was filmed in December 2019, not long before his cancer was diagnosed. I breezed through 40 minutes with Knox during my lunch hour but I struggled hard on both with Tommy after work. I pushed through and finished them both ONLY because it was Tommy and Tommy never gives up, but it was not easy. I logged 105 minutes, 6 miles and 716 calories. I recovered relatively quickly and spent some time on the Total Gym. Fitbit says I did over 15,000 steps.
