Day 848: Create Magic
Today is day 848 of Nutrisystem. I was thinking today about the fact that I'm 848 days into this journey and I'm not at my goal weight. I was a little sad about that and kind of disappointed in myself. Was it unrealistic to expect to lose 154 pounds in 2 years or less ? I don't think it was. The problem is I haven't stuck to the program 100% for the entire 848 days. Ok. Well .. life means having dessert now and then. Life also means making mistakes. Life means learning lessons too. Once I got past the little pity party I started thinking about all the positives I've experienced. I won't rehash them here but trust me .. the list is long. I 100% agree that I am the greatest project I will ever work on. For most of my life my needs came last, not because it was always demanded of me - that's just who I was. I spent so much time trying to make everyone else happy that I lost sight of what I needed to be happy. Turns out I didn't need much. My family, a decent home, a decent car, my job and a little bit of money in the bank. That's all I want and need. Anything else good that comes along will just be icing on the cake. So while the weight loss has been taking longer than expected, I'm ok with taking my time because I feel like that will help this become a lasting way of life. It has been a totally magical 848 days and I'm looking forward to the next 848 ! I was thinking today about this past year and if I didn't have my diet and exercise to focus on I'd have spent this entire time sitting at home doing nothing but eating all day long. I would probably weigh 400 pounds by now because until I started Nutrisystem and dropped a few pounds, I had zero motivation to exercise. I guess things really do happen for a reason !
Breakfast was a 2.5 ounce 160 calorie buttermilk waffles with sugar free syrup and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit toasted coconut vanilla yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with roasted veggies. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was an 8 ounce 210 calorie teriyaki chicken & noodles with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1100 and I got 80 ounces of water in. I also had a small piece of cornbread today so my calories are closer to 1200 for the day.
First workout of the day was Austria with iFit trainer Evan Dollard. Second was South Africa with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. Last up was Romania with iFit trainer John Peel. I logged 104 minutes, 5.9 miles and 709 calories. I also put in about 30 minutes on the Total Gym for a lower body workout. I added ab crunches in an effort to tighten up my midsection. That might hurt a little tomorrow ! Fitbit says I did over 16,000 steps.
