Day 847; The Adventure Ahead

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

" Your life is your story, and the

adventure ahead of you is the

journey to fulfill your own purpose

and potential."

Today is day 847 of Nutrisystem. I also celebrated another milestone today - 36 years with AT&T ! I feel pretty lucky to have this job and I hope it carries me to retirement because I enjoy what I do, I'm good at what I do and quite honestly, I don't want to start over again somewhere else. I love being able to work from home full time too ! I did enjoy going to the office all those years but winters were tough with the snow. Not having to worry about winter driving has been a huge relief. Rising gas prices make me grateful I don't have to spend much on gas these days ! I'm lucky to have received very solid career advice over the years that kept me in the same department. Many of the departments I wanted to work in are no longer there because the work has been outsourced to other companies. I never wished for anyone to lose their job but it's ironic that many people who looked down on me or wouldn't give me a chance are now gone. I guess in the end they did me a favor ! I'm glad I've spent the last 847 days working on me since I spent so many years neglecting myself. It's definitely been a journey to fulfill my own purpose and potential.

Breakfast was a 2 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 3.9 ounce 220 calorie bbq onion and bacon flatbread and roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.1 ounce 130 calorie carrot cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1120 and I got 80 ounces of water in. I also had a small piece of cornbread today so my calories are closer to 1200 for the day.

First workout of the day was Romania with iFit trainer John Peel. Second was South Africa with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. Last up was Austria with iFit trainer Evan Dollard. For this last workout I challenged myself to do it "as programmed" because it was short (just over 23 minutes) and the speed didn't go beyond 3 mph. The challenge was the incline - 10% the entire way ! 3 mph doesn't sound that fast but at 10% incline it is no joke. Fortunately the speed varied from 2 mph to 3 and it seemed like every time I was struggling the speed would slow long enough for me to catch my breath. I made it to the end without changing any of the settings and I was pretty proud of that. I logged 95 minutes, 5.1 miles and 671 calories. I also put in about 20 minutes on the Total Gym for a lower body workout. Fitbit says I did over 15,000 steps.

Today was another gray and rainy day so I was inside all day. My workday flew right on by but I got a lot accomplished. It helped that I slept very well last night ! On that note it's time for a shower and bed !
