Day 778: Enjoy The Moment

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

"It is difficult to live in and enjoy the

moment when you are thinking about

the past or worrying about the future."

 ~ Roy Bennett ~

Today is day 778 of Nutrisystem. I may have used this quote before but it bears repeating and was mentioned in my first workout today. I am so guilty of spending too much time thinking about the past and worrying about the future instead of just living in the moment. Today started at 6:30 am when I managed to get out of bed with enough time for a morning workout ! The alarm went off at 5:30 but the workout was the goal, not the time I actually got up ! So it's a start. I didn't think about yesterday and I wasn't worrying about tomorrow. Of course, it helps that I got up early yesterday and tomorrow is Saturday .. lol ! Monday will be the true test but I'm not going to worry about that now. I'm going to enjoy my weekend.

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt and a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was another new item - an 8.7 ounce 270 calorie supreme pizza bowl. It was penne pasta with pizza sauce, riced cauliflower, turkey sausage, peppers, olives & cheese. It was pretty good though a bit high on the calories. I might order it again and have it once in a while as a treat. I also had the usual bowl of roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 1.8 ounce 140 calorie chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 1160 and I got 80 ounces of water in.

First workout of the day was in Tahiti with iFit guide George Mumford. He is a mindfulness expert and talked about it in a way that made sense, without any psychobabble. My lunchtime workout was in Vietnam with iFit trainer John Peel. After work was another on the Serengeti of Tanzania with iFit guide Dr Evan Antin. I logged 83 minutes, 4.8 miles and 571 calories. I also put in the usual 45 minutes on the Total Gym. Fitbit says I did over 15,000 steps.

Weather was pretty unremarkable today. We had snow showers on and off most of the day but not much accumulation. We almost made it to 30 degrees ! I didn't have a very productive work day but I took care of some ugly issues that have been hanging around, so the day wasn't a total loss. Even though it's Friday night and I'd love to stay up late I'm going to head to bed for some tv and games. If I stay downstairs I run the risk of the evening munchies ! Safe in bed there are no snacks and I can unwind. I'm actually kind of tired and I'd like to get up early enough to get a workout in before I go out tomorrow.
