Day 728: Good Riddance to 2020 !
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 728 of Nutrisystem and it's the final day of 2020, a year I think we're all glad to put behind us. Life with COVID-19 isn't going to change anytime soon but we'll all have a clean slate starting tomorrow. I started 2020 at about 185 pounds so I "only" lost about 30 pounds this year. At first I was disappointed with this stat, considering I lost over 100 pounds in 2019, but then I thought about the fact that in 2021 I will lose 10 or less pounds. So I shouldn't be disappointed. I should be glad I'm that much closer to my goal. All things considered I had a pretty amazing year. My physical fitness has improved. My credit card debt is almost completely gone and I'm thisclose to my goal weight. I learned a lot about myself over the past 365 days. I struggled to find consistency when it comes to exercise. I've stumbled a bit at the holidays but that just gives me more determination to start the new year off right. I will definitely pick my momentum up off the floor and keep going !
2020 was not without it's bad points. Many colleagues lost their jobs this year. Many also lost their jobs in 2019. My wish for all is that 2021 finds them happier than ever as they continue or begin new chapters in their lives. More will lose their jobs in 2021 and there is no guarantee I won't be one of them. This is why financial fitness continues to be an important goal. A dear family friend lost her life and I can only hope that many years of happy memories bring comfort to the family. My family was spared the ravages of COVID but some friends and acquaintances experienced it. I can only hope the vaccine turns the tide around the world and allows a return to normal. The best part of 2020 for me was my brother getting married. COVID made the event necessarily small but the bride was beautiful, the wedding was beautiful and we all had a wonderful time. It's wonderful to see 2 people so happy and so perfect together.
I spent the last day of the year shopping with my older sister and my mom. We went to Boscov's in New Hartford, one of our favorite stores. I picked up a couple of new tops and was happy to see that some of their fitting rooms are now open ! This is one more step towards a return to normal ! After shopping we were looking for a place to have lunch and stumbled across a restaurant we've never been to, called 99 Restaurant & Pub. We decided to give it a try and had a delicious lunch ! We will definitely go back ! We also discovered a Kohl's and a huge At Home store, so those are on the list for our next shopping trip. We have both stores around here but it's nice to be able to visit 3 or 4 of your favorite stores in close proximity and in one trip ! We also stumbled across a little place called Cafe Florentine that sells italian pastries, coffee and sandwiches. We picked up a few baked goods to share and everyone agreed they were amazing ! After shopping my sister headed home and mom and I spent a couple hours at Point Place Casino. I was a loser but mom ended the year with a nice win, so she was happy about that ! We spent the rest of 2020 at my nieces house with too much food, a little wine and a long game of "Redneck Life". We had a lot of laughs so if you like board games this is a fun one ! I ended up winning the game, which rarely happens, and got home about 12:30 am. I was glad that winter weather did not interfere with any of our holiday festivities this year !
I have great hope for 2021. Without hope ... what do you have ?
