Day 727: How Far
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 727 of Nutrisystem. When I made the decision to start this journey I had no idea what to expect. I'd failed at losing weight many times over the years, so what made me think this time would be different ? I guess I just never gave up hope and this time around I dug deep and found the determination I needed. Did I expect to be here almost 2 years later, having lost over 145 pounds ? Truthfully, no. I did not. I've been asked what was different this time and I honestly don't know. I guess it was just time and I was sick and tired of being fat. I also didn't want to end up with the health problems associated with obesity and age. I was also unsure how long my job would last and the thought of going on interviews at 304 pounds was not pleasant. So I was at a point in my life where serious change was needed. I couldn't put it off until tomorrow, or next week or next month. I'd done that for years and tomorrow never came. My secondary goal to pay off my credit card debt was easier. It's taken 2 years but I'll make the last payment on January 6. Although I still use several credit cards, I pay the balances in full every month. The graphic below from a statement keeps me motivated to stay out of debt ! This was from a card with a balance of less than $1800. Can you imagine taking 7 years to pay off less than $1800 ? Absolutely insane. Credit cards helped me survive for years and there were times I could only afford to pay the minimum payment, so I'm grateful to have had them. That being said, it's easy to see how fast debt can get out of control. Just as I will never go back to weighing 304 pounds, I will never go back into credit card debt.
Breakfast was a 2 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit toasted coconut yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt and a chef salad. Afternoon snack was a 1.42 ounce 190 calorie Nature Valley Peanut Butter Dark Chocolate Protein Bar. Dinner was a 4.7 ounce 250 calorie meatloaf sandwich with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 1.8 ounce 140 calorie s'mores pie. Total calories for the day are 1180 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
Today's workouts were in the studio with iFit trainer Ashley Paulson. Studio workouts aren't usually my thing but in this series they eliminated the psychedelic lights and there is no hooting and hollering, so it's a much more pleasant experience. I logged 63.5 minutes, 3.6 miles and 431 calories. After dinner I put in the usual 45 minutes on the Total Gym.
