Day 724: Choose To Celebrate
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 724 of Nutrisystem. I've never been one to celebrate myself but I've had plenty of reasons to celebrate over the past 724 days. As I've gotten closer to my goal weight I kind of lost sight of that. I've spent too much time on what I haven't done instead of acknowledging what I have done. Sure, I could have worked harder this year but I've never been one to rush things and it's been a tough year for us all. I really want this weight loss to be permanent so I think I needed the time to turn bad habits into good habits and to leave all the baggage of the past behind. These are things that do not happen overnight. In fact, they happen at your own pace. What's taking me over 2 years to achieve might take someone else 3 ... or 1. We're all different and we all adapt at different speeds. I enjoyed the holidays this year and I'm looking forward to getting back to Nutrisystem and my exercise program starting tomorrow. The coming week is going to be all about settling back into that routine and I expect to be fully re-committed by Monday January 4 - which is exactly 2 years since this journey started. I've come a long way but the journey is not over. Today though was about celebrating 35 years of service, courtesy of my employer.
As I mentioned, today was an opportunity to celebrate 35 years with AT&T. My older sister kindly offered to host and our entire family gathered to enjoy some games and a nice dinner catered by Olive Garden. They did an amazing job preparing the food and providing everything you could possibly need to serve it. The menu included salad, minestrone soup, chicken parmigiana, chicken scampi, 4 cheese ziti, meatballs, sausage, bread sticks, mini desserts and iced tea. We had more than enough and everyone took plenty of leftovers home.
Today was not a Nutrisystem day so I'm not documenting what I ate. As for exercise, when I got home tonight I put in 31 minutes on the treadmill with iFit trainer Ashley Paulson. I logged 31 minutes, 1.7 miles and 209 calories. I did not use the Total Gym as it was too late in the evening.
This is the end of my vacation and I have to say I truly enjoyed the break. I lucked out when it comes to the weather as the winter storm that threatened my area on Christmas Day stayed north of me and the only snow I saw was flurries in the afternoon and an inch or two during the night. It made the drive home much more pleasant ! The snow that threatened yesterday ended up being nothing more than flurries again and a dusting overnight, so the drive to pick up the food and to my sisters house and back today was smooth sailing for me ! I'm so grateful for that ! I'm only working Monday to Wednesday this week and then I'll have a 4 day break to ring in the New Year ! I'm looking forward to opening the door on New Year's eve to push 2020 out ! On that note it's time for a shower and bed.
