Day 718: Moving Forward

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

“Don't fall back into your old

patterns of living just because

they're more  comfortable and

easier to accessRemember, you

left certain habits and situations

behind for a reason: to improve

your life. And right now, you can't

move forward if you keep going back.

Today is day 718 of Nutrisystem. I woke up feeling much better both physically and mentally. It helps that I got a good nights sleep. I seem to lose my way when my "routine" is disrupted, in this case by the holidays. That's not an excuse, it is a fact and it's something I need to work on. If I were at my goal weight I wouldn't be too concerned about taking in some extra calories in the form of holiday treats. What upsets me is taking a step back at the same time I'm trying to reach my goal. I won't reach my goal weight by January 4 and that is 100% my fault. I don't plan on letting that stop me from continuing to try but it's frustrating. I will get there eventually. Maybe in January, maybe not. Part of my problem is the fact that on weekends and when I'm on vacation my schedule goes out the window. I stay up late (like now, it's after 2 am) and then sleep late. By the time I get up and have breakfast it's afternoon and I end up wasting half the day on the couch. So then I don't have time to exercise the way I'd like to. I already eliminated the morning workout only because I couldn't get myself out of bed in the morning. No other reason. So this is all about discipline and consistency and I've stumbled onto a good goal for 2021. I've gotten lazy. When I worked in the office 5 days a week I had to get up at 5:30 am. There's no reason I can't do that now and there's no reason I can't get a workout in before work. So that is going to be back on the schedule starting Monday December 28th. I will give myself that week to get used to the new routine but starting January 4 there will be no excuses. I have come too far to blow it all now. I've spent a ton of time, money and effort to get where I am today and I'm not willing to give up and go back to my old ways. I may slip but I will never, ever give up.

Breakfast was a 2 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit caramel apple pie yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. I never got around to lunch. Afternoon snack was a 1.4 ounce 180 calorie Great Value Peanut Almond & Dark Chocolate Protein Bar. Dinner was a 9 ounce 250 calorie chicken enchilada over riced cauliflower. Evening snack was a 2.1 ounce 130 calorie cream filled chocolate cupcake. Total calories for the day are 940 and I got 40 ounces of water in.

I was busy today with shopping and wrapping so I only got one workout in. It was a 31 minute studio workout with Ashley Paulson, so I logged 31 minutes, 1.7 miles and 209 calories. I did not use the Total Gym. It just got too late and I was too tired. Fitbit says I did over 10,000 steps.

Tomorrow I need to get out and finish off my shopping with some gift cards. I found out today there is a winter storm watch for my area on Christmas Day ! Christmas Eve is supposed to be 50 degrees and rainy but the rain is supposed to change to snow sometime Friday. Looks like I'll be traveling with an overnight bag and leaving extra food for my cats. On that note it's time for a shower and bed.
