Day 318: Unplug
Since embracing exercise has been so difficult I hate to let a day go by without it. This was in my thoughts when I woke up very late this morning after a rough night. I really had no choice but to unplug and give myself the day off from exercise, but I still hated to do it. I thought about just trying something slow and easy but in the end I decided it was better to get back to 100% first. I fully expect to be right back on the treadmill during my lunch hour tomorrow. I will not let one bad day derail all the work I've put in to get where I am. The fact that I was kind of upset about not exercising tells me I've shifted my opinion on exercise a bit.
Something I ate yesterday disagreed with me and I had all the symptoms of mild food poisoning. I didn't throw up but I came about as close as you can. I don't know what time I woke up not feeling well but I was glad that the episode passed relatively quickly and I was able to go back to bed and sleep. When I woke up the second time it was almost noon. The scale says I lost 2 pounds overnight so I guess that was a free cleanse, the hard way ! The meatball and sausage I ate yesterday had been in the fridge all week so I have no one to blame but myself if that was the culprit. I froze the rest of it on Monday but left a couple pieces out and planned to eat them earlier in the week, then didn't. I should have just thrown them away ! Anyhow, I felt much better when I finally did get up and I was able to eat breakfast and my morning snack. I had "lunch" around 5:30 pm after a jaunt to Walmart. I didn't really want to go to out but I needed some produce. I actually feel fine, just a little weak, so I'm glad I forced myself to go out and then eat something substantial. I had dinner around 8 and my evening snack around 9 and eating hasn't bothered me at all.
Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 180 calorie cinnamon roll with maple pecan coffee. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4.25 ounce 200 calorie turkey pot pie melt with a bowl of steamed broccoli. I didn't bother with an afternoon snack because I had lunch so late. Dinner was a 9.5 ounce 260 calorie roasted turkey medallions with mashed potatoes and gravy. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1015 and I only got 32 ounces of water in today.
I'm kind of glad I can work from home for the next 2 days. Not having to go out in the cold will make it easier to get back to 100%. I actually feel fine, just a bit tired, so it's going to be an early night. Next up is a shower and bed.
