Day 269: I Shape Me

"Today is my tomorrow. It's up to me to shape it, to take control and seize every opportunity. The power is in the choices I make each day. I eat well, I live well. I shape me."

Today's quote is so true. Most everything in my life is up to me when it comes to my health and fitness. I have to eat the right things and drink enough water and exercise. No one can do that for me, I have to make the right choices. If I succeed I can thank myself, if I fail I have to ask myself why and what can I do better. Losing weight is not easy. I knew for many years that my weight was out of control, but I chose not to address it. I know the fact that every other aspect of my life was out of control contributed to the problem, but it was my choice to use food to cope. That's not uncommon but it's something I've had to actively work at overcoming. It's a good thing I made the decision to change my personal life before my professional life was turned upside down. If I hadn't, I can only imagine how much weight I'd have gained in the past 9 months.

Breakfast was a new item for me, a 3 ounce 160 calorie baked banana and chocolate oatmeal with Green Mountain Breakfast Blend coffee. I'm not really a fan of banana's so this one has been sitting in the freezer a while. It was actually quite good so I'm going to get a few in my next order. It'll be a nice warm breakfast on cold winter mornings ! Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie chicken fajita melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. I never got around to having an afternoon snack so I had a higher calorie dinner, which was a 4.7 ounce 290 calorie meatloaf sandwich with a bowl of broccoli. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake with hazelnut coffee. Today calories for the day are 1075 because I didn't have my afternoon snack. I got 64 ounces of water in, along with a workout !

I don't know about you, but waking up to blue skies and sunshine is the best way to start the day !  I wish it would have been warmer out, but it's almost October so the cooler days are inevitable. This has been the laziest weekend I've had in a long time so it's a good thing tomorrow is Monday ! Even though I'll be working from home I can't sit on the couch and be lazy !

I spent the late afternoon and evening watching Dog: Impossible and Dr K's Exotic Animal ER on the National Geographic Channel. I've never seen either show before so it was a nice change. I'd say I'm hooked on both now !

Time for a shower and bed !
