Day 258: Who You Are

"You will always be too much of something for someone: too big, too loud, too soft, too edgy. If you round out your edges, you lose your edge. Apologize for mistakes. Apologize for unintentionally hurting someone - profusely. But don't apologize for being who you are."

I've never been one to try and fit in a mold and I'll never apologize for being who I am. I figure if someone doesn't like me that's their issue. You have to live your life in a way that makes you happy. As an adult, you don't have to live by someone else's rules or traditions. At the same time, we shouldn't judge others for the way they choose to live their life. If what I'm doing or what someone else is doing isn't hurting anyone, then you have to respect that. You don't have to agree with my choices and I don't have to agree with yours. This is what makes each of us different, the freedom to live our lives the way we see fit. I've made plenty of mistakes in my life and while most of them hurt mostly me, others were hurt along the way as the train wreck that was my life continued on it's disastrous course. I always did what I thought was the right thing, to a fault. Sure, I wish I had done so many things differently but it's too late now. What matters now is my life is on a good track and God willing it will stay that way for a good long time.

Breakfast was a 2 ounce 170 calorie double chocolate muffin with hazelnut coffee. Second cup was cinnamon roll. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Late afternoon lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie chicken fajita melt with roasted garlic salsa and a chef salad. I did not have an afternoon snack since I had lunch so late. Dinner was a 9.5 ounce 260 calorie roasted turkey medallions with mashed potatoes and gravy. I also steamed a bag of green beans and dressed them with garlic and lemon juice. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 945. I only got 32 ounces of water in so it was not a good water day ! I did get a workout in so I'm happy with the day.

One of the perks of working from home is extra time in the morning and evening, so I was able to get my laundry done today. Despite my late night I was wide awake at 5:30 so I got up and got busy. My washer is not used to having to work that early ! I also took a quick trip to Walmart during lunch, so the shopping is done too ! Going forward I'll do the shopping in the evening or on the weekend because it's hard to get it done in an hour when you are easily distracted ! There's a Walmart near the office so that's a possible lunch run too. We do have a fridge if I happen to buy anything that needs to be kept cold. With winter coming I'm working on stocking the pantry because I tend not to shop as often. When it's cold and gets dark by 5 pm I hate stopping anywhere during the week and on weekends I tend to hibernate on the couch with a blanket !

Time for a shower and bed. Off to the office tomorrow and then 4 days at home !
