Day 233: I Am Blessed
"I've seen better days, but I've also seen worse. I don't have everything that I want, but I do have all I need. I woke up with some aches and pains, but I woke up. My life may not be perfect, but I am blessed."
I hesitated to get out of bed this morning, afraid I would be getting up to a mass of aching bones and joints. I woke up around 8 but didn't get up until some time after 9. I was surprised to not have any real pain, just a little stiffness ! As I said last night, I would never have been able to get through such a long day at the Fair 91 pounds ago. The morning after wouldn't have been pleasant either. I can remember getting out of bed and wanting to cry because my feet and back hurt so bad. I'd have spent today sitting on the couch popping Tylenol and eating all the junk I brought home. Today I had no junk to consume but I did stay home on the couch. It was cool and cloudy - only 66 degrees, so I had no desire to be outside ! I'm a little tired too. I did go to the post office but I drove today because of my heel. Fortunately I have a box of large adhesive pads that fully cover the heel so that will help with healing. I will probably be wearing socks and sneakers for a few days. Still, I feel so incredibly blessed. I enjoyed every minute of my day at the Fair.
Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce cinnamon roll with, what else, cinnamon roll coffee ! Second cup was hazelnut. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.7 ounce 200 calorie grilled chicken sandwich dressed with zero calorie ranch dressing and buffalo wing sauce. Also had some raw carrots. Afternoon snack was some cheese and crackers (240 calories). Dinner was a 7.5 ounce 220 calorie chicken fettuccine alfredo with some leftover riced cauliflower and broccoli. I also sprinkled a little romano cheese on it. Evening snack was a 3.5 ounce 130 calorie ice cream sandwich. Total calories for the day are 1125.
Although I stuck to the Nutrisystem menu that's about all I did right today. I haven't even drank 32 ounces of water and I did not work out. Tomorrow I'm taking mom to the grocery store so I'll be out and about getting back to normal. Two days without exercise isn't going to derail all my efforts, nor will a day with less water, but I'm a little disappointed in myself. Regardless, I'll pick myself back up and keep pushing forward.
Next up is a shower and bed.
