Day 51: Sleepy Saturday
After a restless night I finally pushed myself out of bed around 9:30. I had thought about just staying in bed all day but I think you need to get up and move around as much as you possibly can. Making the bed, feeding the cats and getting my breakfast about exhausted the energy I had so it was a relief to settle on the couch surrounded by tissues, cold medicines, lip balm, a big jug of ice water, my laptop, my cell phone and my tablet. All the necessities, you know ! I took some Advil Cold & Sinus before I got up so I felt a little better. I’m not coughing too much so I haven’t needed to take any cough medicine or cough drops. My throat is not quite so sore today so that is a good sign ! Colds are always worse at night so I think that is why I felt so awful last night. I was pretty good until around 2:30 today and it was clear the Advil had worn off, so I took another dose. I’ll take my 3rd dose when I go to bed.
Breakfast today was a 2.5 ounce 160 calorie package of buttermilk waffles. I spread them with peanut butter, which added probably 150 calories since I used more than a tablespoon. I think I need a few extra calories until I’m feeling better so I’m not going to stress over that. I had french vanilla coffee with them. My morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. I also had 3/4 of a cup of pineapple, which is about 105 calories and counts as a Smart Carb. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie chicken fajita melt that I had with some salsa. For an afternoon snack I had some plain yogurt and raw carrots. Dinner tonight was a 7.5 ounce 230 calorie chicken marsala frozen entree. It was pretty good ! My calories are at 1005 so I have plenty left for a sweet snack. I didn’t have much in the way of veggies today as I wasn’t that hungry.
The SYFY channel had Harry Potter movies on all day so that was my entertainment. It was a beautiful partly sunny day so I’m sad that I was stuck at home all day ! I haven’t weighed myself this week and I’m not going to stress about that either. I’m following the Nutrisystem program and my primary focus is to get better.
