Day 902 / 903: Motivation
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 903 of Nutrisystem. I was thinking about motivation today because it's a common theme among anyone trying to lose weight or get fit. People ask how you motivate yourself all the time and everyone has a different answer ! There is no sure fire trick to finding motivation. It's unique to each and every one of us. I also think we make the mistake of expecting motivation to be a 24/7 thing and in reality you're not going to be motivated all the time. At least I'm not ! Some days I am more motivated than others and some days I am not motivated at all. I've reached a point in this journey where I'm trying to put a little less pressure on myself. Week after week I would schedule workouts on Saturdays and week after week I didn't do them ... and felt bad about that. I finally had enough of the negativity and designated Saturday as my rest day. I still throw a workout on the schedule, because I never give up, but it's easy enough to move it to another day if I don't do it. The irony when it comes to fitness is I know how good a workout makes me feel yet some days I still drag my feet when it comes to getting on the treadmill. Why is that ? Considering how close I am to my goal weight I should be 10000% motivated every single day so that I get there quicker. Instead, I feel like I'm dragging my heels and I'm starting to think I'm afraid of getting there. Once I reach my goal weight .. then what ? It's about as scary as starting this journey was because I'll be taking on the responsibility of maintaining the loss and weaning myself off the controlled portions provided by the Nutrisystem meals. I clearly don't trust myself enough yet. So yet again I'm reminding myself there is no hurry and the important thing is that my weight does not increase. If I stay at 153 for another few months ... who cares ? The world will not end. The big question is this: am I really not where I want to be ?
Day 902 of Nutrisystem was pretty much a day off Nutrisystem. I had breakfast at home and then was out for the day with my mom. She had her doctor appointment in the morning and everything was fine there. After the doctor we went to Wegman's so she could grocery shop and on the way back to her house we stopped at William's Farm Stand for ice cream ! Mom had a milkshake made with home grown strawberries and I had a sundae with home grown strawberries. It was delicious and worth every calorie. Once we dropped off her groceries we headed to .. where else .. Turning Stone Casino. We had a nice dinner at Upstate Tavern, where I finally got my veggie burger fix ! It did not disappoint, it was SO good ! I had green beans and a cup of corn chowder with it. I also had a few of mom's fries and we shared our favorite dessert. I'm not worried about the calories or the fact that I didn't exercise. I had a wonderful day with my mom and that's really all that matters. I was tired when I got home (just after 8 pm) and went to bed early.
Today it was back to the Nutrisystem plan ! Breakfast was a 160 calorie cherry cheese roll and an 80 calorie Light & Fit lemon meringue yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 210 calorie teriyaki chicken & noodles with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1100 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
First workout of the day was in Tanzania with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. Second was French Polynesia with iFit trainer Paulo Barreto and last was New Zealand with iFit trainer Zac Marion. I logged 110 minutes, 6.3 miles and 750 calories. I also spent some time on the Total Gym. Fitbit says I did over 15,000 steps. Tomorrow I have a 43 minute workout and two 40 minute workouts on the schedule. That's pretty ambitious for a Friday so we'll see how it goes ! If I can make it through all three that'll take care of some of the excess calories I took in yesterday !
