Day 810: One Day

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

"One day you will thank

yourself for not giving up."

Today is day 810 of Nutrisystem. During my first workout today the trainer was talking about not giving up on your goals, even when you're tired. Hmm. I very often skip workouts on the weekend "because I'm tired". There's a fine line between tired and lazy and I think I'm more lazy than tired when this happens. I'm okay with one day of rest each week but too often it's turning into 2. My fear is that it will become 3 .. then 4 and I'll eventually abandon exercise completely. That's not an option if I want to keep the weight off. In fact, Nutrisystem recommends 1 hour of exercise per day when you get to the maintenance phase. They only recommend 30 minutes while you're actively losing weight (likely due to the calorie restriction) and I've been doing 60 or more minutes for quite some time. I do pretty good with my "routine" all week but weekends are causing a lot of anxiety. I end up eating things I normally wouldn't and I have 100 excuses not to exercise. The bottom line is I'm giving myself a little too much rope ... and you know the rest of that saying ! So I have to work on shortening the leash when it comes to weekends. I'm not sure yet how I'm going to do that. Do you try to go cold turkey or make some gradual changes ? We'll see. I'm definitely not giving up and the day I reach my goal weight is the day I will thank myself for hanging in there !

Breakfast was a 2.5 ounce 160 calorie package of buttermilk waffles with sugar free syrup and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit toasted coconut vanilla yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 4.7 ounce 250 calorie meatloaf sandwich with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1140 and I got 80 ounces of water in.

First workout of the day a rainy walk through Portland, Maine with iFit trainer Casey Gilbert. Second & third workouts of the day were in Vietnam with iFit trainer John Peel. I logged 92 minutes, 5.3 miles and 633 calories. I also got 20 minutes of lower body workout on the Total Gym. Fitbit says I did over 16,000 steps.

It was warm enough to work out on the front porch again this afternoon though it was not quite as sunny as yesterday. I actually had a very productive morning but after lunch my productivity slid as I delved into more complicated things. Losing internet at 4:15 didn't help matters either ! Fortunately it was only a brief outage and I was back online by 4:30. Looks like it's going to be warm for the next couple days (60's) but there is rain in the forecast every day. I guess we're getting an early start on our April showers ! On that note it's about time for a shower and bed.
