Day 806: Pay Attention

🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤

"Pay attention. Are your daily

choices in alignment with the life

you want for yourself ? If not,

nothing will change."

~Steve Maraboli ~

Today is day 806 of Nutrisystem. Most of the time my daily choices ARE in alignment with the life I want for myself, but it wasn't always that way. For years I made choices that did nothing but make my life worse. One bad choice after another became a snowball rolling downhill that I could not stop. At some point I stopped caring and I was resigned to my fate. When I think back to those turbulent years I have to wonder how it is that I'm still standing. You really don't know how strong you are until you have no choice. Sink or swim. Fight or flight. I chose not to sink and circumstances kept me from fleeing. It took a few years to climb out of the hole I had dug for myself, but now that life has gotten better I'm determined to keep it that way. I'm determined to treat myself well and be happy. A lot has changed over the past 806 days but I still need to be mindful of the choices I make. Too often I didn't take the time to think things through or think about the consequences of an action, so I'm more aware of that now. Much has changed in my life and I am so grateful for the happiness that has been bestowed on me. This quote was a good reminder to pay attention if I want to keep it that way !

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 4 ounce 260 calorie italian sausage & turkey pepperoni pizza with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1150 and I got 80 ounces of water in.

Both of today's workouts were in Vietnam with iFit trainer John Peel. I had trouble with the iFit app and the new series with Hannah Eden and Paulo Barreto so I didn't get a 3rd workout in. I actually tried the last workout 3 times before I finally gave up. By then I was tired and frustrated and not in the mood to workout anymore. iFit is rolling out all kinds of new features and they are buggy at times. There are also thousands more people using the app and that impacts performance occasionally too. Don't get me wrong - I still LOVE iFit ! They're actually doing a live workout on Monday night (3/22) with a team that will be summiting Mount Everest ! I am pretty excited about that one ! Today I logged 63 minutes, 3.6 miles and 427 calories. I skipped the Total Gym tonight too. Fitbit says I did over 13,000 steps. I did make a deal with myself to get a workout & Total Gym session in tomorrow, even though I typically take Saturday's off.

There was no sign of warmer temps this morning - it was 21 degrees when I got up and I think we only made it up to 32 for the high ! It's supposed to be near 50 tomorrow and 60 or better for at least the next week ! The snow is almost completely gone from my yard and the grass is starting to get green, so I think Spring is right around the corner. I need to get some Spring decor for the front porch since I'll be able to enjoy sitting out there again soon ! On that note I am heading for a shower and bed. Tomorrow will likely be a casino day with mom and I want to get up early !
