Day 781: The Three R's
🖤 Get well soon Tommy ! #teamrivs #RageOn 🖤
Today is day 781 of Nutrisystem. This quote hit the nail right on the head. This past weekend I did rest, relax and recharge and I felt the difference today. I had much more energy for my workouts and never felt like it was too much. There are some days that I do feel like I'm running on empty and that takes the pleasure out of working out. Today I can honestly say I enjoyed every single workout. Exercise wasn't a chore because I was rested. I don't plan to take every weekend off but going forward I'm not going to worry if I don't get a workout in every single day. I push myself hard Monday through Friday simply because I am at home all day and have no excuse not to. Weekends are different because I do enjoy getting out of the house and spending time with my family. At some point the weight loss part of this journey will end and exercise will also become more of a maintenance activity, so it's important to make exercise a positive part of the day. For a long, long time I hated every second on the treadmill. Who wouldn't ? When you're fat and out of shape it's really hard ! Once I hit my goal weight I can't just go back to sitting on the couch. Exercise and proper diet will always be necessary to maintain the loss so it's best for me to embrace both while still giving myself a little break now and then !
Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll and a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit strawberry cheesecake yogurt. Morning snack was a 120 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 3.8 ounce 220 calorie pepperoni pizza melt with a chef salad. Afternoon snack was 1/2 cup of cottage cheese (80 calories) and 2 Alyssa's oatmeal cookies (90 calories). Dinner was a 7.6 ounce 210 calorie italian style sausage & peppers with roasted veggies. Evening snack was a 2.2 ounce 140 calorie lemon zest cake. Total calories for the day are 1100 and I got 80 ounces of water in.
I wish I could say my exercise day started bright and early. It did not. I could not motivate myself to get out of bed early this morning. I did get my 3 treadmill workouts in, so all is not lost. I will try again tomorrow. First workout of the day was one from a new series in South Africa with iFit trainer Knox Robinson. I really enjoyed it and plan to do the rest of the series once my iFit schedule is less full ! Second workout of the day was another on the Serengeti of Tanzania with iFit guide Dr Evan Antin. Last workout of the day was the South of France with iFit trainer Alex Gregory. I logged 86 minutes, 5 miles and 586 calories. I also spent 15 minutes on the Total Gym for a lower body workout. It's not going to be easy to forego the upper body for 1-2 weeks but it's necessary to resolve the pain in my shoulder. I also resisted the temptation to shovel snow today. My roof dumped all over my driveway AFTER it had been plowed today and it's the heavy icy stuff. Instead of shoveling it myself I'm having the guy that plows for me take care of it tomorrow. It's worth paying him to do it.
Weather today was snowy as predicted. I'm really glad I didn't have to be out there driving in it. I keep telling myself Spring is coming but boy, it can't get here soon enough ! My workday wasn't as productive as I'd have liked but I got a few things accomplished. On that note it's about time for a shower and bed because I'm tired !
