Day 477: Shifting Your Energy
"Gratitude is a powerful process for
shifting your energy and bringing more
of what you want into your life. Be
grateful for what you already have
and you will attract more good
things."
It's Day 477 of Nutrisystem and Day 40 of quarantine. I have to say, I didn't expect 2 weeks at home to turn in to 40 days plus with no end in sight. I guess when you're faced with something you've never experienced before it's hard to know what to expect. I'm spending a lot of time thinking about all of the things I'm grateful for, because it helps keep me from thinking about the things we're all missing out on. Two years ago I was preparing to move back into my house at this time. Ten years ago I was settling back into my job at this time, after spending 6 months fighting leukemia. I have a lot to be grateful for. Yeah, it sucks to be stuck at home with everything closed but I'm safe at home and I have everything I need. The good times will be back and when they are I plan to take full advantage of them !
Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce 160 calorie cherry cheese roll. Power fuel was a 5.3 ounce 80 calorie Light & Fit creme brulee yogurt. Morning snack was a 155 calorie vanilla shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie spinach & cheese pretzel melt with a chef salad. Dressing added 30 calories. Afternoon snack was a 1.4 ounce 180 calorie Jif chewy granola bar. Dinner was a 4 ounce 210 calorie broccoli & cheese stuffed chicken breast with a bowl of roasted veggies. Total calories for the day are 1165 and I got 64 ounces of water in.
First workout of the day was another 27 minutes of torture in Bolivia with iFit trainer Hannah Eden. It was a new type of intervals for me. The speed increased with each interval and there were no recoveries. The pace started at 2.8 mph and the speed increased slightly each minute until you hit 3.5 mph. After a minute at that speed we worked our way back down to the starting pace. There were 2 sets and I kind of liked it, so I'll do this workout again ! There was some incline but it was brief enough to get through. After work I completed #7 in the Grand Canyon series with iFit trainer John Peel. It was 26 minutes of 1 minute intervals at 3 mph with 1 minute recoveries at 2.6 mph. There was quite a lot of incline but it was mostly 4% or less so it was very manageable at that pace. I logged 53 minutes, 2.5 miles and 310 calories. I did not use the Total Gym today.
Weather was warmer but kind of gloomy today. Not much in the way of sunshine at all. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny and near 60 degrees so I'm definitely planning on washing my car after my grocery run. I have my mask all ready to go and I actually ordered 2 new ones on Etsy last night. I figure we're going to be wearing masks for a while so I want something pretty to wear. They're handmade by a lady in Rhode Island. I happened across her shop in the midst of 25,000+ listings for face masks on Etsy ! Work was busy, busy today and Monday is going to be even busier - which is great. I need to be busy because it makes the days go by a lot faster ! We have at least 3 more weeks of this so the busier I am, the better !
Tonight was my Friday evening Skype session with my family. I didn't feel like pizza but I'm looking forward to having some "real" pizza when lock down is over ! I really can't wait for the day we can sit down in person. The virtual life just isn't my thing and truthfully, it doesn't make this isolation any easier but it's all I've got right now. I'm planning to have everyone over for pasta when this is over or when I can find pasta, ground beef and italian sausage in the store !
It's about time to head for bed. I'm looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow !
