Day 202: Commitment

"There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results."  ~Kenneth Blanchard~

This quote is perfect for tonight because I'm still not to a point where I accept no excuses. I didn't get my workout done because just a few minutes in I was experiencing pain in my left foot. I thought maybe my sock was caught on a nail and I tried wiggling my toes around to walk it off. That didn't work so I finally paused the treadmill and took my shoe off ... to find a bloody sock and toe. I have no idea what I did because I swear the foot was fine when I put on my socks and shoes. It appears I somehow pulled the nail up. I could have bandaged it up and got back on the treadmill but it was getting late and I was frustrated. I got home late tonight because I had to stop and buy gas. Then I got distracted watching the antics of 3 rabbits in my side yard. One little guy really wanted to get close to another but the larger rabbit was having none of it. So I was really late even getting on the treadmill. When I did start the treadmill I had trouble getting Ifit to connect so that further delayed me.  Although I am most definitely interested in using the treadmill I guess I don't quite have the necessary level of commitment. Maybe I just wasn't meant to exercise tonight ! For some reason I just couldn't get out of my own way all day today. I don't even feel like I accomplished anything at work. Tomorrow is another day and I'm sure my foot will be fine. I have some gauze pads so I'll wrap it for a day or two. I've talked about bumps in the road before and this is just another example of one. It's not like there is anything unusual going on - work and home life are perfectly fine - so I guess it's just one of those days.

Breakfast was a 2.1 ounce cherry cheese roll with caramel vanilla cream coffee. Second cup was toasted marshmallow mocha. Morning snack was a 155 calorie chocolate shake with peanut butter powder. Lunch was a 4 ounce 220 calorie spinach and cheese pretzel melt with raw carrots. Afternoon snack was 3/4 cup yogurt (90 calories) and a snack cup of mixed fruit (80 calories). Dinner was a repeat of last night, a 4 ounce 180 calorie artichoke and spinach stuffed chicken breast with green beans. Evening snack was a 3.4 ounce 90 calorie frozen orange cream bar. Total calories for the day are only 975. I guess that's ok since I didn't burn many on the treadmill tonight !

Today was another beautiful day of blue skies and sunshine ! I really wanted to just sit outside tonight and enjoy the weather and I guess I should have just gone ahead and did that ! Two more days and it'll be the weekend. Although I intend to be back on the treadmill tomorrow the weekend will be a chance to refocus and recharge.

At this point I'm headed for a shower, some first aid on my foot and then bed !
